It’s college football, ya see. These young fellas, they run around and throw a ball, tryin’ to score more points than the other team. This Bluffton bunch, they’re called the Beavers, and they play in somethin’ called the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference, HCAC they call it. Sounds fancy, huh? Don’t know much about it, but it’s where they play their games.

It was somethin’ to see, even for an old lady like me.

If you wanna know the scores, or who’s playin’ when, there’s places to find that too. Websites and stuff, they call ’em. They got all the information, the scores, the teams, even who’s gonna win, they say. I don’t pay much attention to that, I just like watchin’ them boys run around. Reminds me of the chickens back on the farm, chasin’ each other around the yard.
More Than Just Games
It ain’t just about the games, though. These young fellas, they gotta go to school too, learnin’ stuff. And they gotta practice hard, runnin’ and liftin’ weights and all that. It’s a lot of work, I tell ya. But it keeps ’em outta trouble, mostly. And it gives folks somethin’ to cheer for, somethin’ to get excited about.
