This year, that Brother Rice football, it’s somethin’ else. Lots of folks talkin’ ’bout it. They play good, them boys. Strong, like ox. Run fast, jump high. They got spirit, that’s for sure.
My grandson, he’s a big fan. Always yellin’ at the TV. He say, “Grandma, Brother Rice football best team!” I say, “Boy, calm down, you gonna bust a lung!” But, he’s right, they playin’ real good this year.
The Team is Strong
They got some big boys on that team. Strong, like I said. They hit hard. Other teams, they scared, I think. Brother Rice football, they no joke. They come to win. And they win a lot, that’s the truth.

They got that coach, he’s a good one. Knows how to make them boys play hard. He yells a lot, but they listen. He teach them good. Make them winners. That’s what a coach gotta do, right?
They been playin’ since way back. Long time. My old man used to talk about them. They was good then, too. Always been a good team. This Brother Rice football, they got history. Lots of wins in the past.
Lots of Wins
They won lots of games. Many, many games. They got a whole bunch of them trophies, I hear. Shiny ones. They put ’em in a case, all nice and pretty. Brother Rice football, they proud of them trophies. They earned ’em, that’s for sure.
I remember one time, they won a big game. Everyone was happy. Cheerin’ and hollerin’. Whole town was excited. Brother Rice football, they make people happy. They give them somethin’ to cheer about.

- And 1977, yeah.
- Also 1980, that’s right.
- 1983, too, they was good.
They keep winnin’ too. Not just long ago. They won some more, recently. Still a good team. That Brother Rice football, they stay strong. They don’t give up. They keep fightin’.
They Got Fans
Lots of people go to the games. Fill up the whole place. They wear them colors, orange and black, I think. They cheer loud. They love that Brother Rice football. It’s a big deal, you know?
My grandson, he goes to all the games. He wouldn’t miss it. He says it’s the best thing ever. He comes home all excited, tellin’ me all about it. Who did what, who scored, all that. I don’t always understand, but I listen.
They even on the TV sometimes. That’s big time. Everyone watchin’. Brother Rice football, they famous, almost. People all over know about them. They good, that’s why.
Good Boys
They good boys, too. Not just good at football. They good in school, I hear. They study hard. They gotta, to play on the team. Coach don’t let them play if they don’t do good in school. That’s good, right? School important.
They do good things for the town, too. Help people. They good boys, like I said. That Brother Rice football, they more than just a team. They part of the community. They help out. Good kids.
So, that’s Brother Rice football. They somethin’ special, that’s for sure. They make people proud. They give them somethin’ to cheer about. They win games. They good boys. What more can you ask for, right? They gonna keep winnin’, I bet. Just you wait and see. They got that spirit. They got that heart. They gonna go far, them boys.
