Ah, you see, Shepherd University football, oh boy, it’s something else! Now, let me tell ya about these Shepherd Rams, they got a football team that really brings the whole town together. Shepherdstown, that’s where the university is, and folks round here, they sure do love their football. It’s like a big ol’ family gathering every time them Rams play a game, ya know?
Shepherd University, well, they got a strong team, playing in that NCAA Division II, Mountain East Conference. Oh, and they got 12 varsity sports, but let me tell ya, football’s where it’s at! Every fall, people put on their Shepherd Rams gear and head down to the Ram Stadium, all excited like. The place be packed, and you can hear folks hollerin’ from miles away when the Rams score!
Now, they had some great games this season too! Shepherd Rams kicked off their 2024 season on September 5th. They went down to play Southern, and oh, they got a nice win, 23-0! That really got folks talkin’ in town, sayin’ how this year’s team might just be special. Then, a few weeks later, they played Slippery Rock, and, well, that one didn’t go so great, lost 20-10. But ya know, that’s football for ya, can’t win ’em all. They bounced back quick though, and on September 21st, they beat Clarion 27-9! That’s when folks really started sayin’, “Oh, these Rams got some fight in ‘em!”
Now, lemme tell ya, Shepherd University ain’t just about winnin’ games. Naw, them student-athletes work hard both on and off the field. They got over 100 clubs and organizations at the university, and a lot of ‘em do community service. That’s real nice, ain’t it? Givin’ back to the community like that. Makes you proud to support a team that cares about where they come from.

He set an NCAA all-time passing touchdown record when he was playin’ for the Rams! Now, he’s out there in the NFL, playin’ for the Chicago Bears! Can you believe that? A boy from Shepherdstown goin’ all the way to the NFL? I tell ya, people round here are real proud of that. Makes you think, maybe these Rams are raisin’ up more stars like Tyson, just waitin’ to shine.
