’m not exactly a golf pro – more of a “hack my way around the course” kind of guy – but I’ve played a few rounds in my time, and the idea of a course called “Waterview” definitely piques my interest. They’re calling it a “championship course,” which sounds pretty intimidating, but I’m guessing that just means it’s well-maintained and has a good layout. They’ve got those long names and fancy titles sometimes just to sound impressive. I bet most people playing there aren’t pros, which is comforting! I’m pretty sure I’d rather play with a group of people who are just out for a fun day, rather than hardcore golfers who are going for a super low score.
From what I gather, it’s got lakes, lots of trees… sounds like a pretty picture-perfect setting. I’m imagining lush green fairways, maybe some strategically placed bunkers (which I’m sure I’ll find myself in more than once), and, of course, those stunning water views. I’m already thinking about the photos I could get! Maybe even a selfie or two with the green in the background.
I’m also a big fan of a well-stocked clubhouse. A nice, cold drink after a long day on the course is essential. And maybe a burger or something. A relaxed, friendly atmosphere is a must for me. No stuffy, overly serious vibes.
Now, I’m not one for super detailed course maps and yardage charts. Give me a general idea, a few pointers on where the hazards are (mostly to avoid them!), and I’m good to go. But hey, if there’s a handy scorecard, that’s always appreciated – mostly so I can keep track of how badly (or maybe surprisingly well!) I’m doing. I really wouldn’t want to end up arguing with my friends about the score.
Looking at some online resources, I’m guessing the prices are probably pretty reasonable. I’m not expecting it to be dirt cheap, but as long as it’s within a reasonable budget for a casual round, I’m happy. I’m more interested in the overall experience – good company, nice scenery, and a decent game (or at least a decent attempt).
